“Happiness held is the seed; Happiness shared is the flower.”

I've always been the first to welcome in spring with a vase of bursting tulips on the counter or spot a grouping of wildflowers popped up by the roadside - but I never truly considered growing flowers of my own (which is honestly a bit wild given I grew up on a  farm myself)!

Fast forward to a winter day in 2021, I stumbled across the Growing Kindness Project - and jumped in without hesitation. I spent the summer of 2022 in a garden overflowing with dahlias, cosmos, zinnias and other cut flowers. With kiddos at my feet, these blooms were gathered into bouquets and delivered to a local oncology clinic (the same in which I was treated and cared for in 2014), to spread joy and light to those in a season of need.

What started with an impromptu spark and a bit of an impulsive dive into the flower gardening world has turned into a dream with a life of its own. A dream to spend more days with my hands in the dirt, growing alongside my little family, and sharing flowers with community and beautiful people like you.
